Packs for a Purpose

JLT members met on October 7 to fill bags for Packs for a Purpose. Two hundred packs were prepared and have been distributed to local organizations in support of children. A second pack assembly session is scheduled for the spring. This year’s committee is led by Molly McInnis. Committee members are LaToya Carson, Melissa Delk, and Jami Duran. We send our thanks to these ladies and all who make this project possible.

Packs for a Purpose was adopted as a League project in 2018 to meet the needs of children who must leave their homes through the Division of Children and Family Services (AR) or Child Protective Services (TX). These children often have only a trash bag in which to gather their belongings. Our backpacks contain living essentials, school supplies, and comfort items which assist in maintaining the dignity of children.
